A city-based civil society organisation Clean Odisha Charitable Trust (COCT) has appealed to benevolent citizens of the State to extend a helping hand to a distressed family, whose sole earning member has passed away, leaving behind his wife and three young daughters.
A Sahid Nagar resident, Sripati Baliarsingh, used to work as a plumber to earn his family’s livelihood. But three years ago, he died of cardiac arrest. After his death, his wife Renubala Baliarsingh used to work as a domestic help to feed the family of four and meet its basic necessities. To add to the family’s bad fate, Renubala’s two kidneys failed and she is not able to work now. Her eldest daughter, who has completed Plus Two from the Maharishi College here with the financial help of some kind denizens, could not continue her further studies due to monetary problems. The two other daughters are studying in school with much difficulty.
Further, an amount of Rs 4,000 is spent every month for Renubala’s kidney treatment in the Hi-Tech Hospital. It has now become impossible for her to afford the medical expenses. The family, which is staying in a small asbestos house, is being helped to some extent by local Corporator Saswati Mishra and COCT chairman Biswa Ranjan Ray. However, more than her health Renubala is worried about the future of her three daughters.
If any civil society organisations or kindhearted souls are willing to help Renubala financially, they may deposit the money in the name of Sasmita Baliarsingh SBI account no 33589796801, IFSC code- SBIN0063040 or contact in mobile no 9937114078, 7539896265, said COCT treasurer Sasmita Mallick.
