Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal has directed officers of the power utilities to keep an eye on the residences of politicians and senior officers of the State Government to ensure that electricity is not pilfered.
The Chief Minister while presiding over a meeting of officers of the Ambala district administration in Ambala on Saturday said, “This should be done alongside the campaign to check power theft by ordinary citizens. Political leaders and officers are supposed to check any pilferage of revenue. Instead of playing the custodian, if they too indulge in robbery of the State exchequer, the law should come down on them as does on ordinary people who indulge in this kind of theft. The law is same for every person, and no one is above the law.”
The Chief Minister lauded the action initiated by the power utilities to curb power theft at Government residences in Ambala. He also directed to provide 24-hour power supply by reducing line losses in all feeders under the Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon Scheme.
With a view to effectively tackle the menace of stray cattle, the CM directed to tag each animal with 12-digit number and construct gaushalas in urban and rural areas.
Emphasising the need for making adequate arrangements for disposal of solid and liquid waste management to achieve the target of complete cleanliness, Manohar lal directed the officers to lay special emphasis on waste management programmes in urban and rural areas.
lauding the efforts of the District Administration for making all villages in the district open defecation free, the CM directed to achieve this target in the urban areas at the earliest. He also directed to provide toilets in all Anganwadi Centres in the State which do not have this facility.
The CM also reviewed the progress of implementation of all 125 announcements pertaining to the district. He was apprised that work on 42 projects had been completed at a cost of Rs 14.86 crore and work was underway on 20 projects. to the tune of Rs 142.43 crore.
