Haryana Government has directed all Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners and lead District Managers in the State to ensure 100 per cent linking of bank accounts with Aadhaar numbers and mobile numbers of account holders, besides issuing and activating RuPay cards for all Jan Dhan accounts.
Zero-balance bank accounts should also be kept activated, directed Additional Chief Secretary, Finance and Planning Department, P Raghavendra Rao, at a video conference held with all deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners, and lead district managers and officers of other departments, here.
During the conference, discussion was held on financial inclusion, social security, cashless transactions, schemes for districts and other related matters. Rao instructed the officers to promote cashless transactions to facilitate the people.
It is also necessary to link bank accounts of those working under MGNREGA Scheme with Aadhaar, he said. He also instructed the DCs to take action against such representatives as they remain absent from meetings of District level Review Committees, ensure establishment of financial literacy centres and earmark appropriate sites for this purpose.
