Crime branch books accused in sexual assault case

Crime branch police have nabbed a wanted accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl and carried a cash reward of Rs 5000 on his head; accused remained absconding for the past one year and was nabbed on Thursday.

Police said that the accused Vishal Yadav (22) was nabbed near Patrakar Bhawan on Thursday.

According to police the nabbed accused is a resident of Kotra Sultanabad and in the year 2016, he had captivated and sexually assaulted a minor girl in Jehangirabad area and escaped.

A complaint was made with the Jehangirabad police and based on the complaint a case was registered under under sections 363, 366 (k) and 376 of the IPC and section 5 and 6 of POCSO Act. later after police failed to find him SP Bhopal (North) declared a cash reward of Rs 5,000 for providing whereabouts of the accused.

On Thursday after receiving information the accused was nabbed. The accused confessed that he used to change places while he remained absconding for the past one year to avoid arrest.

Police have started to search for the details of the accused and his crime which he had committed during the period of absconding.

After the accused was nabbed by crime branch he was handed over to the Jehangirbad police where he was wanted in kidnapping and sexual assault case. 

Police said other details would be revealed in the further investigation. His acquaintances who have helped during the absconding would be searched and nabbed and action would be taken.
