The State Government places highest priority on creating employment opportunities for youth in both Government and private sector. Special campaigns have been launched to fill up all the vacant posts in the Government, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Raising Day function of the 9th Special Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) here on Tuesday.
Patnaik said, “Further, a large number of posts have been created in essential services including police, fire services and prisons. As you know, we have already raised eight Indian IR Battalions and the 9th IR Battalion is being raised today which will be located at Kalahandi. We have already raised two Special India Reserve Battalions and the 3rd one has been formed to provide security cover for construction of vital roads, bridges and culverts in the lWE affected areas.”
The Chief Minister said, “Raising of Specialised IRB will fill up a critical gap in the existing operational preparedness as well as in the development of infrastructure in these areas. The State Selection Board has selected 490 security personnel to raise this 9th Specialised IR Battalion.”
“I am happy that online application process was adopted for the first time in the State Police. I would like all the recruitment agencies to adopt such methods for ease and convenience of the candidates and to lend transparency to the process,” Patnaik said.
Among others, Home Asit Kumar Tripathy, DGP KB Singh, Additional DG SAP B Radhika and IG Sanjeeb Kumar Panda were present.
