Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated a newly constructed smart terminal of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) at Anigara in Khunti on Wednesday. The terminal which falls on Paradip-Ranchi-Raipur pipeline of IOC is expected to drastically cut short distribution time of petroleum products of the company in the State. The CM also flagged off tankers containing petroleum products to various destinations from there after inaugurating the terminal.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Petroleum Minister on the occasion, Das said that the terminal connecting Paradip, Ranchi and Raipur was testimony of the PM's belief in increasing connectivity, be it pipeline, gas, roads or with the people of the country. He said that the petroleum products which used to reach Ranchi through railway containers, thus taking unexpected time, would now reach directly through pipelines in less time and would be distributed to the entire State from Khunti and Deoghar.
"This commercial centre of Kolhan and South Chhotanagpur is dedicated to the Nation and Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Khunti is the birthplace of Birsa Munda but has remained neglected for last 70 years. It finds its place among backward districts in India. Now, we have worked with a vision and roadmap within short-span of our governance so far to develop the district. I am sure we will see a developed Khunti in next three years," said the CM.
He asked officials to move ahead of mere planning and focus on output. "We worked on development, health, education, employment, availability of drinking water through vision document and roadmap. Vision must bear output so that it makes some benefit for the people. Educated people should spread education to the illiterates so that everyone grows. This is the land of Birsa Munda and only a land of law under democracy will prevail. Perpetrators will not be spared," warned the CM when Rural Development Department Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda, MP Kariya Munda, South Chhotanagpur Commissioner DC Mishra, DIG Amol V Homekar, Khunti DC Manish Ranjan, IOC Director Aneesh Agrawal and Director (Bihar State Office) Shailendra Kumar Sharma, and dozens of other officials were present.
The CM shared the development agenda of Government and said that women in the State manufactured 9 lakh blankets and the Government will purchase them all. He also encouraged people to go ahead in activities like, bee-keeping, piggery, poultry and many other professions alike with government's assurance of purchasing entire output.
Rural Development Department Minister Neelkanth Singh Munda said that the terminal has taken Khunti to another level of development. "The district has seen only politics in the name of development since decades, but the present Government is committed to true development of the district and the State," said Munda.
