Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat along with children living in Apna Ghar ashram listened to the Man ki Baat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on All India Radio at Badripur in Dehradun on Sunday. The orphanage is providing shelter to 42 children and women while also working for their rehabilitation.
After listening to Man Ki Baat, CM Rawat along with the Bharatiya Janata Party state president Ajay Bhatt interacted with the children and other residents and distributed food packets among them. In his programme the PM talked about poverty alleviation while the CM was sitting among the children of an orphanage. By doing this CM has attempted to motivate the children who were later seen clicking their photographs with the CM.
During interaction with media, CM Rawat said that he tries his best to listen to the PM’s Man Ki Baat programme among people. His voice comes out from the bottom of his heart and forces listeners to think on it. He speaks on different topics and as currently nation is affected by flood and PM has expressed his concern for it. He talked about August Kranti celebrated on August 9 to mark the effort which had been started to remove the British colonialists from India about 75 years ago. The PM said that on August 15, 2022 India will celebrated 75th independence day and to remember the August Kranti the nation will have to fight against poverty, unemployment, untouchability, casteism and terrorism. The nation will have to be freed from these ills, he said.
Rawat said, “The PM has made an appeal to the people through Man Ki Baat. Now the opinion of people especially the youth has changed and will change in future too. Now they have started thinking about others apart from themselves. This is a serious change and if it continues then nation will be on progressive path as our prime minister is striving hard to take nation ahead from now. The Man Ki Baat programme has been transforming into a public movement. Initially it was being considered that very few people will listen this programme because people have lessened the use of radio but the results now are there for all to see with the number of listeners increasing week after week. Earlier people had deserted radio but now people are again turning towards radio.”
He further said that the PM had said that rainy season always pleases the minds of the people but sometimes rainy season also creates havoc. For the last few days nation especially Assam, Gujarat, Rajasthan and Bengal are facing incessant rain which turned into a disaster. Whenever he gets time the PM personally visits the flood affected areas. Union Government, army, air force, NDRF, para military forces always make their effort and provide help to the flood affected people. To cope with flood the government has established 1078 helpline number which functions round the clock. To help the farmers the Government has also made a plan for crop insurance companies so that they can disburse compensation immediately among farmers whose crop was destroyed due to disaster. He also referred to about one month passing after implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST). Through GST app one can know about the prices of the goods and its difference before and after GST implementation. He also reiterated that August month being considered as associated with movement/revolution, the new generation should know about what had happened on August 9, 1942. He invited youth to come forward to make their contribution in nation’s progress in innovative ways. PM also congratulated youth especially daughters in his address.
