Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday said the State Government was spending crores of rupees for strengthening and increasing the capacity of the electric power infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted power supply across the State.
The Chief Minister was speaking after laying the foundation stones of two 33kV sub-stations in Karnal. These sub-stations would be constructed at a cost of about Rs 8 crore.
Reiterating the commitment of the State Government towards providing uninterrupted power supply, he said several initiatives had been taken in this direction. New sub-stations were being established and capacity of existing sub-stations was being increased, he added.
He said the capacity of the main 220kV power station on Kunjpura Road had been increased to give relief from permanent power cuts. Following this, uninterrupted power supply had been commenced in rural area along with the city, said the Chief Minister.
Notably, all villages in Haryana’s Ambala and Gurugram districts would get 24-hour power supply under Mhara Gaon Jagmag Gaon scheme by August 15 this year.
About Rs 80 crore was being spent by the State Government on new poles, cables and transformers for providing 24-hour supply in these two districts.
