CM gives certificates to farmers

Thursday, 31 August 2017 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a programme held to distribute crop insurance certificates to farmers at Kaagpur village of Vidisha district said that information on roadmap to double the agriculture income of the farmers will be given by organising farmers’ conventions in the month of September at block headquarters. He said that apart from farmers, agriculture scientists present at the convention will advise farmers on beneficial crops after testing the area’s soil and climate. Suggestions received from the farmers in proposed conventions and suggestions for doubling agriculture income based on geographic condition and environment of specific area will also be included in the roadmap.

Chouhan told farmers that now farmers will not have to sell their produce at unreasonable rates. Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana is being launched for the benefit of farmers. Under this scheme, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said the Government will pay the price difference between model selling price declared by state Government and minimum support price declared by centre on selling of the marked crop at the notified krishi upaj mandi in State by the farmers.

In case of any fluctuation from the fixed value in the market price, the Government will compensate for it so that the farmers get a fair price for their produce. He said that the price will be based on the average support price of three States. The fixed minimum support price will include the cost of production of the crop. It will include the expenses on seeds, sowing, pesticides and marketing.

Chouhan made an announcement in the convention that cleanliness drive will be launched in the state from September 25 to October 2. Making appeal for participation of all the sections of the society, he stated that any scheme or campaign of the State Government could not succeed unless common men participate in it. Chouhan distributed certificates of crop insurance scheme to 21 farmers in the programme. Arrangements have been made to send certificates to the home of the farmers who have not received the same at present.
