A meeting of state working committee of Schedule Caste/Schedule Tribe cell of Bharatiya Janata Party was held here on Sunday to chalk out plan to help party register the fourth consecutive victory in assembly polls scheduled in the State later next year.
Union Minister of State Ajay Tamta, State President of SC/ST cell Dr Krishnamurthy Bandhi were among the key personalities attended the meeting. The SC/ST cell prominently discussed the issue of mission 2018 and decided to set a target of winning all the 10 seats reserved for the SC category.
In last Sssembly polls BJP won nine SC seats but it lost Masturi seat where former health minister of the state, Dr Krishnamurthy Bandhi lost polls to Congress candidate. Dr Krishnamurthy Bandhi is now the State President of SC/ST cell.
Meanwhile, the meeting decided to focus on the Schedule Caste votes and winning all the 10 Sidhan Sabha seats.
In the meeting Union Minister, Tamta collected information about various schemes of the state regarding welfare of Schedule Caste and Schedule Tribe. State-In Charge of the cell Ashok Medhe, Member of Rajya Sabha, Dr Bhushal lal Jangde, Member of Parliament Kamla Patle, Food Minister Punnulal Mohle, Tourism Minister Dayaldas Baghel and several others attended the meeting.
