CBI files charge-sheet in Vyapam case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a charge-sheet under sections 120-B, 419, 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC and section 3/4 of MP Recognized Examination Act, 1937 against a candidate and an Impersonator in the Court of Special Magistrate for Vyapam cases at Gwalior on the allegations of cheating by impersonation in Police Constable Recruitment Test Examination 2013.

CBI took over the investigation of this case on the orders of Supreme Court which was earlier registered at Police Station Janakganj, Gwalior under section 420 of the IPC and 3/ 4 of the MP Recognized Examination Act, 1937.

The candidate was declared as absconder by the State police.

During investigation conducted by the CBI, the candidate was traced and the impersonator was also identified and traced.

Investigation revealed that the candidate in furtherance of criminal conspiracy with Impersonator, cheated the Vyapam by way of impersonation.

After forensic analysis of the questioned documents, CFSl expert opined that handwriting and signatures of Impersonator matched with the same available on OMR, RASA and cover page of Question Booklet.

The expert of CFSl also opined that the handwriting of Candidate did not match with the same available on the OMR, RASA and cover page of Question Booklet of the written examination.

It was also alleged that the solver (impersonator) had impersonated in place of the original Candidate in the written examination of Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2013 held on April 07, 2013.

He was arrested by CBI on June 06, 2017. The candidate evaded his arrest and absconded.

The Court has been prayed to issue NBW against accused Candidate.
