The Baripada Vigilance Court on Wednesday convicted former president of Baripada Urban Cooperative Bank Bimal lochan Das and sentenced him to undergo one-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) and pay a fine of 1, 00,000, in default, to undergo one year and two months of more RI.
The court convicted Das for sanctioning and disbursing a loan of Rs 1, 00,000 to one Ranjit Dhir of Jhaliamora village in Mayurbhanj district by fabricating documents and with inadequate security money.
