Belgium has offered to provide latest technology to the UP government for different sectors of economy and development projects. Ambassador of Belgium Jan luykx and a delegation met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence in lucknow on Tuesday. The CMinister the luykx of ‘Namami Gange’ (Ganga cleaning project) and sought technical assistance from Belgium for cleaning the river.
He said that the state government was determined the clean the river before Ardh Kumbh at Allahabad in 2019. The CM said that new technology for solid waste management in urban areas of UP will also be useful for the state. Yogi said besides Ganga cleaning and solid waste management, the state government has also taken up ambitious projects for laying new sewer lines and drinking water projects in the state. Ambassador luykx assured the Chief Minister that the government of Belgium was ready to extend new technology and enhancing economic cooperation with the state government. Expressing keen interest in Smart City Projects, the Belgium Ambassador said that his government was willing to extend all possible help for the successful execution of urban development projects. luykx expressed intentions for working with the UP government in execution of Smart City projects in Aligarh, Ghaziabad, Allahabad and other big cities of UP. later in the day, the CM attended a programme to commemorate the death anniversary of former UP Chief Minister Vir Bahadur Singh and also released a book on the occasion. Yogi garlanded the statue of the former CM- a Congress leader who was CM from September 1985 to June 1988. The late CM’s son Fateh Bahadur Singh, who is BJP MlA from Gorakhpur, was present along with several other ministers at the programme.
