Vikas Sharma, CEO and Director, BAlCO, presented a cheque of Rs 50,000 to Miss Simran Thawait, sponsoring her participation in the International Muay Thai competition to be held at Bangkok.
Sharma lauded Simran on her exceptional performance in the sport and expressed his well-wishes to Simran on this journey.
The Cheque distribution programme was organised at Comprehensive building of BAlCO. G Venkatreddy. Head, Power Business, Balco and Ashish Ranjan, Head, CC&CSR, Balco were present at the function.
Simran's parents Kavita Thawait & Bhupendra Thawait expressed their gratitude to BAlCO for their support. Thawait said, "BAlCO helped us fulfil our daughter's dream which would have been difficult without BAlCO's support.
Simran from Gevra, Korba is on her way to conquer her dreams of representing India at the global arena. Simran, a national level Muay Thai gold medallist is all set to battle it out for her country at the World Youth Championship to be held at Bangkok, Thailand this August 3-11.
Simran is a student at DPS, Jamnipali and is currently studying in class 12th. It was in class 9th that the world of boxing caught the fantasy of this young girl.
Her school coach recognising her talent in the sport inspired her to participate in Muay Thai competitions. And now, Simran has two national gold medals in the sports to her credit which she won at the Muay Thai India National Federation, 2017 and the National Muay Thai Championship, 2017.
