Noted archaeologist Dr Harendra Prasad Sinha today stressed on the need to draw attention of the government on the huge potential of Jharkhand in terms of historical sites having archeological significance.

By means of his presentation Dr Sinha acquainted the people present there with the archeological personality of Jharkhand. Dr. Bachhan Kumar, Regional director of IGNCA, Kamini Kumar, Pro-vice Chancellor of Ranchi University, Dr IK Chaudhary, Dean of Social Sciences RU also addressed the audience. Various officials from Ranchi University Officials, research scholars and students participated in this event.
Dr. Sinha said, “It is a thing of great surprise for us that despite of having so many important archeological sites have been decaying due to negligence by State authorities and activities of the locals. Development of these sites will also boost tourism.”
Appreciating these initiatives of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA), the Pro Vice Chancellor of Ranchi University Kamini Kumar said, “The student of Jharkhand who wish to pursue higher studies in archeology has to move out due to lack of proper curriculum in the state universities.
