The State Government on Tuesday approved an Annual Programme Implementation Plan (APIP) of about Rs2,278.14 crore for execution of various projects under the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) during the current year, 2017-18.
The State Empowered Programme Committee meeting held under chairmanship of Chief Secretary AP Padhi at the Secretariat approved the fund. Women and Child Development Secretary Vishal Dev presented the updates
Padhi directed stressed on strengthening of the internal inspection and reporting mechanism and asked the department to ensure 100 per cent flow of befits to the targeted group.
Issues like improving of Take Home Ration (THR), revised guidelines for engaging SHGs for THR production, construction of new Anganwadi Center buildings in convergence with MGNREGS, availability of basic facilities at AWCs and nutrition quality imrovement were discussed.
It was revealed that 43.52 lakh beneficiaries are now being supplied supplementary nutrition food each day in 72,452 AWCs spread over 338 project areas of the State. Out of the total beneficiaries, around 18.83 lakhs are the children between 6 months to 3 years of age and 17.33 lakhs between 3 to 6 years and around 7.36 lakhs are pregnant and lactating women.
The APIP of Rs2,278.14 crore approved would be shared by the Central and State Governments at different ratios (50:50 for SNP and 60:40 for ICDS general).
It has been targeted to construct buildings for 24,481 AWCs by the year 2018-19.
