Aadhaar cards found in river

Monday, 31 July 2017 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Over 250 Aadhaar cards found on the bank of Sadabah river and field of farmers at Haidernagar block on Sunday.

DSP Manoj Kumar Mahto said the UID cards were buried over there which could be a handiwork of local postmen.

The matter came into light when farmers located them and reported the matter to the police. “These Aadhaar cards were of sub-post office Kareemandeeh and had addresses of villages — like Bhadua, loharpoor, Barewa, Kourwa Singhna and Karamandeeh. The cards were left undelivered and buried. However rain waters exposed the sin of the postal department,” the DSP said.

locals with the help of civil society activists and panchayat representatives are now arranging to deliver the Aadhaar found unattended to the right person. The DSP moreover maintained that no job letter has been found.
