Featuring biographical documentaries on renowned personalities, a five-day film festival ‘Vridanta’ will be organised at Bharat Bhavan.
The festival will begin here from Tuesday at Bharat Bhavan with the screening of two documentaries. The first documentary is on a renowned poet and lyricist Akhlaq Mohammad Khan better known by his pen name Shehryar. Directed by Obaid Siddiqui the movie will be screened at 7 pm.
Another documentary on Rasik Priya written by a Hindi poet Keshavdasa will be screened on Tuesday. The movie is directed by Arun Khopkar.
Organised under Chhavi series of classical cinema the festival would screen around 10 movies.
The festival is all about ‘Art Discipline’ that includes great and known personalities in painting, music and other art forms. The movies that show the purity of music, dance and creations of legendary personalities would be screened under the festival.
Under the fest, movies on renowned names Baba Nagarjun, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Ustad Alauddin Khan and more will be screened.
The film festival will be a major attraction for the students. Besides, this film fest will also be fruitful for people interested in making documentaries.
While informing about it in-charge of Chhavi series of classical movies Narendra Rai said, “For the past five years we are organizing this film festival and have received a huge response by the audiences. Further, we aim to screen only biographical movies or documentaries which are made to promote Indian culture and traditions.”
The festival will continue till March 4.
