With a unique concept, an annual World Rest Day was celebrated in Bhadrak for the fourth time on Saturday. The idea behind the celebration is “Give permanent rest to injustice”.
The concept is to ensure social justice to the deprived mass to enable them to take rest properly without worries. Volunteers of social justice in Bhadrak district joined the celebration. This celebration was started in the year 2014 from Bhadrak on December 30.
“Don’t take rest until you ensure stoppage of restlessness in your surroundings,” said founder of the day Supreme Court lawyer Radhakanta Tripathy.
This year, the day, dedicated for “Proper rest for a healthy society”, was celebrated at Dagamunda leprosy Colony, a habitation of leprosy patients, tribals and landless people. Students of the colony’s primary school, villagers and volunteers joined the celebration.
By observing the day, Tripathy tries to ensure justice by activating the social, political and bureaucratic system. It would help to a great extent to protect human rights of all vulnerable groups of the society.
