2815 employees to be deployed in HP poll count
Shimla: Himachal chief electoral officer Pushpendra Rajput said that adequate arrangements had been made for counting for the state assembly elections-2017 on December 18. He said the counting would start at 8 am simultaneously at all places and videography of each poling center would also be done. 48 poling centers had been established in the state with facility of 781 poling tables. In all , 2815 employees would be engaged in the counting process for all 68 assembly seats. He said that rehearsal would be conducted at Shimla, Mandi and Dharamshala on December 6 and 7 for all the counting officers and officials.
Web Portal of CSDM launched
Chandigarh: The web portal www.utcsdm.org of Chandigarh Skill Development Mission was launched by VP Singh Badnore, Punjab Governor and UT Administrator. On the occasion, UT Home Secretary Anurag Agarwal informed that the web portal will enable the youth to get themselves registered online for admission to various courses under Skill Development Schemes especially Pardhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) on first come first serve basis. The Skill Development courses under PMKVY will be free of cost. Badnore appreciated the effort of Chandigarh Skill Development Mission and emphasized that all efforts should be made to provide skill training to aspirants especially unemployed youth to help them in securing better livelihood.

Chandigarh: Amneet P Kumar, Mission Director, National Health Mission has been posted as Secretary, Health Department against a vacant post. She has also been given additional charge of Mission Director, National Health Mission, with immediate effect.
BSNl oldest customer honoured
Chandigarh: BSNl Chandigarh, as part of celebrations of the 18th BSNl day falling on December 1 and recognizing the long association of the oldest existing landline, mobile, broadband customer of Punjab circle, presented a silver plate worth Rs 5000. The oldest BB subscriber of Punjab Circle is from Chandigarh SSA i.e. Nirmal Kumar Bhardwaj, a resident of Sector-47 here.The Awardee was selected by BSNl Punjab Circle. JS Sahota, PGMTD Chandigarh presented the silver plate embedded with the BSNl logo and a caption” to Bhardwaj.
Finance aid to SC students for online coaching
Chandigarh: Minister of State for Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, Krishan Kumar said that Haryana Government is actively considering to provide financial assistance for online coaching facility to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes for preparation of various competitive and entrance examinations. Earlier, financial assistance was being provided for offline coaching for various competitive exams, he said. The candidates can avail the offline financial assistance two times provided that his or her family annual income should not be more than Rs 2.5 lakh, he added.
CGRF members to listen to public grievances
Chandigarh: The members of the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam will make extensive visits in December for hearing grievances of the consumers and to entertain new complaints. A spokesman said that the proceedings of the CGRF will be held in the circle office at Yamuna Nagar on December 1, Karnal on Dec 6, Ambala on Dec 8, Panipat on Dec 11, Sonipat on Dec 13, Rohtak on Dec 15, Panchkula on Dec 18, Kurukshetra on Dec 19, Jhajjar on Dec 20 and Kaithal on Dec 22 respectively. The CGRF shall take all grievances/complaints of consumers like billing problem, voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of power supply among other issues.
Prof kumar receives best oral presenter award
Kurukshetra: Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh from NIT Kurukshetra, Haryana received the award of best oral presenter in an international conference (ICCNS) held in Tokyo, Japan during November 24-26. In his talk, he presented the work on “Data leakage Detection”. This work was carried out by him with his PhD student Ishu Gupta. Prof. Ashutosh has more than 15 years research and teaching experience in various University systems of the India, UK, Australia and Malaysia. His research area includes Verification, Synthesis, Design and Testing of Digital Circuits.
Anytime Fitness enters Punjab market
ludhiana: Anytime Fitness, a US-based gym chain, announced the launch of its first fitness club in ludhiana in Punjab as a part of its pan India expansion plan. Vijaya Bank organises Bhim-Aadhaar Camp
Chandigarh: Regional Office of Vijaya Bank, Chandigarh organised a Bhim-Aadhaar Camp at Main Branch in Sector 17C to promote digital banking and adopt digital mediums among merchants and customers. Regional Manager, Neeraj Kumar Khanna informed the customers about the advantages of Digital Banking specially through Bhim-Aadhaar Bio-Metric Devises they can easily make payment and do transactions without use of any debit or credit card.
