State Govt’s decision on salary disparity hailed
Dehradun: The Association of Uttarakhand Secretariat employees have welcomed the State Government’s decision to reconsider the issue of salary disparity. The association was at loggerheads with the Government after it decided to downgrade the grade pay of the secretariat services employees. The state cabinet in its meeting on Thursday had decided to re examine the issues of disparity in salary of various cadres. The President of the association Deepak Joshi said the association expresses its gratitude on the decision. He added that the association hopes that coordination between it and the government continues.
‘40 yr to face more breast, cervical cancer’
Dehradun: The chances of breast and cervical cancer among the women who have crossed the age of 40 are higher said the President of 'Can Protect Foundation' and Gynaecologist Dr Sumita Prabhakar while addressing press conference here on Friday. She said that these cancers can be prevented by regular medical checkups. Dr Prabhakar said that most of the women ignore early symptoms of breast and cervical cancer due to hesitation. She said that the foundation would hold camps from October 1 to 30 at the Hall of Dehradun Municipal Corporation.
father-in law held for man’s suicide
Dehradun: Based on suicide note recovered from deceased Virendra alias Veeru Valmiki 21, a resident of Kehri village, Premnagar, police have arrested his father-in law Balkrishan, resident of Valmiki Basti Thakurpur, Premnagar. Veeru had committed suicide on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. Police said that in his suicide note, Veeru had made his father in-law responsible for his suicide.
Olympus School holds annual Investiture Ceremony

The ceremony commenced with a welcome song ‘Proud to be Olympian’. later in the programme the prefect council members took an oath under the supervision of the Managing Director of school Kunal Shamshere Malla.
