Don’t buy Chinese goods: Baripada intellectuals
Baripada: An intellectuals’ meet on “Giving up of Chinese goods” was held here on Tuesday. The meeting was held at thel Municipality Conference Hall by the town unit of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch. While the meeting was conducted by the Manch convenor Nirmal Prakash Jena, many leading intellectuals of Baripada took part in it and urged people not to use all types of China-made articles.
Bargarh: 50 kg deer horns, 4 bear nails seized; 1 held
Bargarh: The Wildlife Crime Control Bureau on Tuesday night busted an endangered animals body part-smuggling racket and seized 80 pieces of Sambar deer horns weighing 50 kg and four bear nails from a person at Ambabhona Chhak in Bargarh district. One Sujit Bhoi of Goudapali village was arrested in the connection. Police said Bhoi had collected the Sambar deer horns and beer nails from the Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary and was planning to transport them to Chhattisgarh.
Tata Sukinda Mine bags 4 awards
Sukinda: The Tata Steel’s Sukinda Chromite Mine (SCM) in Jajpur district bagged four awards during the half yearly safety week celebrations organised under the aegis of the Ministry of labour and Employment Director General of Mine safety (DGMS) Bhubaneswar region. SCM received first prize in electrical safety, code of practices/safe operating procedure of Heavy Earth Moving Machinery Maintenance (HEMMs) and monsoon preparedness and second prize in penetration of OMMS Application in the mine. ISM Dhanbad’s Prof Arvind Mishra, MCl Safety GM S Roychoudhury, Satna University’s Prof GK Pradhan and Bhubaneswar DGMS Mines Safety Director R Subramanium presented the awards.
