Dr Sarat Mishra gets Mother Teresa award
Bhubaneswar: The India International Friendship Society has awarded the Mother Teresa Utkarsata Purasakar to senior orthopaedic surgeon Sarat Chandra Mishra in New Delhi. Former Union Minister Bhisma Narayan Singh and Justice Fakiruddin gave away the momentum to Dr Mishra for his dedicated treatment to the common people at large. He has served for 16 years in the Capital Hospital as orthopaedic specialist and head of the orthopaedic department.
‘Saheedon Ko Salaam’ programme on June 17
Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Bharati Foundation is all set to organise a cultural programme ‘Saheedon Ko Salaam’ to pay rich tributes to the martyrs and freedom fighters of Odisha here on June 17. It aims to promote patriotism among youths and students of the State. Musical presentation by singer Dr Jayashri Dhal’s group Sur Vibration would be the major attraction, former Culture Director Sushil Kumar Das told reporters. Kalinga Bharati founder Akshaya Kumar Samal was present.
RSS Sanghasiksa valedictory on June 3
Bhubaneswar: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) would hold valedictory programmes for first year Sanghsiksha group of Odisha and second year Sanghasiksha groups from Odisha and West Bengal at Keonjhar and Bargarh, respectively, on June 3. For this, a padyatra was organised across Keonjhar town on May 28. About 300 Swayamsevaks participated in the padyatra.
