Haryana CM visits Mata Mansa Devi
Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal visited Shri Mata Mansa Devi Shrine complex at Panchkula near here on Wednesday, the third day of Chaitra Navratri and paid obeisance. He also performed yajna amidst chanting of hymns. The Chief Minister, who also interacted with mediapersons, said that he offered prayers for prosperity and success of the people of the state. He added that the facility of cashless transaction should be available at temples and other religious places whether managed by the government or social organizations. The system of cashless transactions is a new initiative in the country, which has been accepted by the people, he added.
Gurugram Civic body enhances financial aid
Chandigarh: The Municipal Corporation, Gurugram would provide funds to Resident Welfare Associations and Committees at the enhanced rate of Rs three per square metre for monthly maintenance of parks from April 1. At present, funds are granted at the rate of Re 1.35 per square metre. A spokesman said that the rate has been enhanced in view of other expenses and the wages of gardeners on DC rate as the basis.
Meeting of Principals to be held
Chandigarh: A meeting of the Principals of Government colleges in Haryana would be held under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, at Conference Hall, Kisan Bhawan, Panchkula on April 5 at 10 am. A spokesman said that only Principals or Officiating Principals would be allowed to attend the meeting.
Haryana issues notification
Chandigarh: Haryana Government has included Chief Whip, Haryana Vidhan Sabha and Ex-Governor of the State at serial number 20 in the State Order of Precedence. A spokesman said that accordingly, Article 20 of the State Order of Precedence has been modified to read as, Cabinet Ministers (of another State); Speaker Vidhan Sabha (of another State); Chief Justice of High Court (of another State); Deputy Speaker, Vidhan Sabha; Minister of State; Chief Whip, Haryana Vidhan Sabha; Puisne Judges of the High Court; Ex-Governor of State and Chairman Power Regulatory Commission.
Punjab Dist level Farmers' training camps from April 4
Chandigarh: Punjab Agriculture Department will commence district level farmers' training camps from April 4. The purpose of these training camps is to disseminate the technical inputs and other knowhow of the cultivation of different crops. A spokesperson said that as part of these training the camps exhibitions would be organised at the grain markets at the district level. He said that in order to impart the technical training to the farmers various teams comprising of the experts from the universities have also been constituted.
Annual prize distribution function held
Chandigarh: Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Pharmacy, Sector 26 organised “annual prize distribution function” in its campus here. The chief guest for the function was Charanjit Singh Channi, Punjab Minister, Technical Education and Industrial Training. Jaswinder Kaur, Principal presented the annual report of the College. 53 students of diploma in medical lab technology across six semesters and nine students of D Pharmacy1st and 2nd year were placed in the merit list of Punjab State Board of Technical Education and were awarded prize for their academic excellence.
Foundation signs MoU with Dev Samaj College
Chandigarh: Can & Will Foundation has signed an agreement with Dev Samaj College of Education, Sector 36 here to establish project eduCATe in the college. Can & Will has pledged to financially support the education of 5 intelligent girl students aspiring to qualify as teachers, but who are facing monetary hardships. Current students shortlisted by Dev Samaj include daughters of a driver and a gardener. Dr (Mrs) Agnese Dhillon, Principal, Dev Samaj College of Education appreciated the initiative taken by Can & Will Foundation and extended full support to the project. Khalsa College excels in Inter-Khalsa College Youth Fest
Mohali: Khalsa College (Amritsar) of Technology and Business Studies, Phase 3A Mohali brought laurels by showing outstanding performance at the three-day Inter-Khalsa College youth festival held at Khalsa University campus Amritsar. While the college won first prize in Bhangra Competition it excelled in several other competitions as well. Dr. Harish Kumari, Principal of College said over 13 Khalsa colleges took part in the fest. Several competitions included Bhangra, Giddha, Song and Ghazal singing, dance etc.
