Sahitya Akademi holds poets’ meet at Paradip

Paradip: A poets’ meet was held at the Officers’ Club, Madhuban here on Sunday jointly by the Odisha Sahitya Akademi and the Monalisha Sahitya Sansada. While poet PitambaraTarai chaired the first session, OSA secretary Aswini Kumar Mishra welcomed the guests. Dr Aparna Mohanty and Sansad secretary Sanghamitra Swain graced as guests. Then, poets recited their poems. Dr Santosh Samal prised over the second session where Alekh Chandra Behera and Akshya Kumar Rout attended as guests. Dr Bnaprava Parida and Angurubala Parida coordinated the poetry recital programme. The book “Jane Aswachha loka” was released.

 

Ronald Institute holds Excellence 2017

Brahmapur: The Ronald Institute of Technology held a two-day programme, Excellence 2017, at its premises here, which concluded on Sunday. IREl Manager SP Behera, convenor Dr Rashmita Tripathi, co-convenor Satyanarayan Sahu, Roland director J Jayalaxmi, director Er Shiba Prasad Rao and Principal Dr Tarini Charan Tripathi graced the occasion as guests. Er Sujit Kumar Bhattmishra coordinated and secretary Sahu coordinated the programme. Students from different technical institutes participated and presented excellences. Winners were given away prizes.

 

Mother Teresa Society distributes prizes

Mahanga: The Mother Teresa Charitable Society here held a prize giving ceremony to mark the Republic Day. The society felicitated 500 students of Balram-Kalaram High School and Jadumani ME School at Bhimrajpur under Salipur block and 200 local people for achievements in various fields. Social worker Pramod Kumar lenka was also honoured. Balram-Kalaram High School Headmaster Bhaskar Chandra Swain and Jadumani ME School Headmaster Bijay Kumar Satapathy distributed the prizes. Society president Satyapira Panda and secretary Jyotiranjan Rajaram Panda highlighted the society’s achievements.

 

Satya Sai Seva Samiti holds annual day

Athagarh: The Sri Satyasai Seva Samiti celebrated its 32nd annual function here on Sunday. Samiti State president P Jagannath Prasad Rao, who was chief guest, spoke on the miracles of the Baba, who showers blessing on the society every moment. Cultural programmes on Bhakta Salabega and one-act plays were performed. Samiti local president Dasarathi Sahoo coordinated the programme.

 

‘Udayabata’ celebrates R Day at Jajpur Rd

Jajpur Road: The Udayabata, a news magazine, observed the 68th Republic Day here on Thursday. Jajpur Road Deputy Ranger Taruna Kumar Mohanty hoisted the National Flag. The meeting chaired by magazine editor Dushmanta Rout was attended by Forester Sasikanta Behera and former Postmaster Batakrushna Pradhan as guests. A 12-page Udayabata Calendar-2017 was released on this occasion. ‘Durlabh Kala Parishad’ artists presented patriotic songs.

 

M’bhanj Saraswati Sisu Mandir holds annual day

Baripada: The Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir at Nudadiha in Mayurbhanj observed its annual day on Sunday. A meeting, a glittering prize-distribution ceremony and a series of cultural programmes were organised on the occasion. While the meeting was presided over by school managing committee president Goura Chandra Sahu, Kaptipada Block Education Officer Baikuntha Nath Nayak and writer and journalist Kavi Vishnu Satpathy addressed the gathering as guests. School secretary Niranjan Parida, Pradhan Acharya Santanu Kumar Ray, treasurer Basant Kumar Behera and educationist Prafulla Khilar were present. School magazine “Swetapadmaa” was released.
