16K youth got jobs in 366 fairs: Hry Min

Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training Minister, Vipul Goel on Wednesday claimed that under a special campaign to provide jobs to unemployed youth in private sector, the Department has provided employment to about 16,000 youth through 366 job fairs during the last seven months in the state.

Apart from this, apprenticeship training in technical sector has also been provided to about 7,000 youth so as to hone up their skills, said Goel.

He said that the Department is running various technical courses so that youth could get employment in any industry or company. Earlier, the youth of rural areas were found standing in unemployment queues due to lack of proper guidance during the regime of previous government, but the present government has now decided to organise job fairs in rural areas in every districts, said the Minister.

He said that new companies were being invited in these job fairs so that the management could select the qualified youth as per their requirement.

Giving details, Goel said that the Department has organised 366 job fairs from April to October  in which 15,913 youth have been selected for job in private sector. In addition, 7,056 youth been selected for apprenticeship training.

26 job fairs were organised in April, in which jobs were offered to 1,017 youth and 449 were selected

for apprenticeship training, said he.

He further said that 62 job fairs were organised in the month of May, 120 in June, 80 in July, 44 in August, 30 in September and 75 in October.        

The Minister added that the Department would also conduct job fairs in future so that youth could get employment opportunities as per their area of skills.
