As many as 1,284 Senior SES Headmaster posts and 85 OES II (SB) posts are lying vacant in Government high schools in the State now.
School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of BJD MlA Prafulla Samal on Thursday. The vacant Senior SES Headmaster posts include 1,062 posts belonging to the SC and ST category, he said.
The Minister further informed that the Government is considering a proposal to promote Junior SESs of general category to the Senior SES posts through de-reservation mode as eligible Junior SESs in feeder cadre are unavailable. However, promotion can’t be effected until a related case pending at the State Administrative Tribunal has not be disposed of, the Minister said. The above numbers of vacant posts include 66 posts in the high schools run by municipal authorities. The SAT has directed not fill up these posts by transferring HMs from other Government high schools.
Efforts are on to fill up the OES II vacant posts, said the Minister.
