Tuesday, 31 January 2017 | Saugar Sengupta | kolkata

Angered by the stated effects of demonetisation and more angered with the CBI for arresting party’s leader in Parliament Sudip Bandopadhyay Mamata Banerjee has asked the Trinamool Congress MPs to step upanti-Narendra Modi campaign in Delhi.

As the first step the TMC will boycott the opening two days of Budget Session. This will be followed by sustained agitation against the Modi-Government both inside and outside Parliament.

Senior BJP leader Kalyan Banerjee on Monday said the Chief Minister had asked the MPs to boycott the House on the first two days of the Session.

“The TMC MPs will not be present in Parliament on the first two days of the Budget Session in protest against demonetisation which has ruined the country’s economy and hit the poor hard,” said Kalyan also the party Chief Whip in the lok Sabha, adding, “Our party will also protest against the way our senior leader Sudip Bandopadhyay was illegally arrested by the CBI just because he was at the forefront of the anti-demonetisation campaign.”
