RSS head Mohan Bhagwat would give away Rs Vedic education awardsRs to best student, teacher and school on October 5 here at Dr SPM Civic Centre to encourage and promote and popularize Vedic studies.
The best Vedic student will get a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh and certificate and the best teacher and the school will be given
Rs 5 lakhs and Rs 7 lakhs respectively. Certificate and trophy will also be given to the winners.Instituted by Singhal Foundation, Udaipur, the 'Bharatmata Ashokji Singhal Vedic education awards', are named after late Ashok Singhal , the founder of 'Vishwa Hindu Parishad' (VHP).
The awards are aimed “to encourage, promote and popularize Vedic Studies in India”, said a press statement of the foundation.
“ While there are a number of charities supporting Vedic education at regional or local levels, there is no award at the national level. We decided to institute the annual award to encourage more and more schools, teachers and students to take up the study of the Vedas and propagate them for the good of society. An impartial and rigorous method was adopted to select one best student, teacher and school respectively,” it said.
