KCR calls up beneficiary of double bedroom house scheme

Friday, 31 March 2017 | Omer Farooq | Hyderabad

To ensure that the benefits of his Government’s welfare programme reach the targeted families without any pilferage, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has adopted a novel method of randomly contacting the people over phone.

On Thursday he spoke to a beneficiary of the double bedroom flat scheme. Nagamani, a resident of Muddupally village in Khammam district was incredulous when she heard KCR’s voice over phone at the other end. “How is your new homeIJ Are you satisfied with all the facilitiesIJ”, he asked the woman.

Nagamani thanked the Chief Minister for the allotment of the house under the free housing scheme. “We are all indebted to you”, she said.

TRS Government in Telangana was implementing an ambitious plan under which all the poor families were being allocated double bed room houses.

As a first step in this direction he handed over 600 newly built model houses to 600 poor families in his native village Erraveli and Narsampet village in Medak district in December last.
