The CBI has arrested two persons, including a joint director in the department of industries in the Himachal Pradesh Government, in a Rs5-lakh bribery case.
It is alleged that the joint director, Tilak Raj Sharma, demanded Rs10 lakh for clearing a proposal and sought Rs5 lakh as first instalment.
Sharma had also allegedly told the complainant that a portion of this money will go to the private secretary of the Himachal Chief Minister in Delhi, the FIR claimed.
The second arrested person has been identified as Ashok Rana.
The bribe was allegedly demanded for clearing a subsidy claim of Rs50 lakh for a pharmaceutical company, it said.
The investigation officer of the CBI has stated in the FIR that the conversation has been recorded and verified by him.
