Vijay Goel: Property tax exemption row politically motivated

Friday, 31 March 2017 | Staff Reporter | New Delhi

Union Minister Vijay Goel on Thursday said the controversy being raked up over his family owned heritage building in Old Delhi is politically motivated and intended to divert the attention of the people from the failures of the Kejriwal Government.

“Instead of raising irrelevant issues the Arvind Kejriwal Government should speak on the Rs 97 crore advertising scam in which it has been asked to refund the Government money,” said Goel while addressing a Press conference at Delhi BJP Office.

“Today the people of Delhi hate this Government and in next few days I will go amongst the people especially morning walkers in parks to expose the corrupt Kejriwal Government,” he said further.

He said this Government which has failed on every front in Delhi and as a gimmick wants to use property tax waiver as election sops is trying to fool the people of Delhi by confusing them by raising irrelevant issue.

“The property tax exemption to our family heritage building was allowed by the Municipal Corporation after the approval of Shahjahanabad Development Authority chaired by Minister Manish Sisodia and the exemption is not restricted to my building, it is for all similar heritage buildings,” he added further.
