The team worked diligently and persistently by employing detectives in and around Delhi NCR, MP and Uttar Pradesh.”
A trap was laid by the team after information was received that the accused would come near Shastri Park red light on Eastern Approach Road between 6 and 7 pm to deliver a huge cache of illegal weapons.
Around 6:30 pm the accused arrived and was carrying a blue and a red bag on her shoulder. She was waiting there for someone and after a span of time when no one turned up and she was about to leave, she was overpowered and apprehended by the accompanying woman staff. When the bags were checked, the weapons were recovered, the DCP added.
During her interrogation, she disclosed her name as Mobai. Earlier she was working as a laborer in fields but her income was not sufficient to fulfill her basic needs. Being unable to make sufficient earnings, she came in contact with arms traffickers of Barwani and Dhar districts in MP. Thereafter, she started supplying illegal arms for local arms traffickers. She used to collect illegal semi-automatic pistols from manufacturer of Dhar and Barwani districts and further supplies them in Delhi, NCR and UP West.
