After a woman filed a case of gangrape alleging that her friend and other unknown people raped her at several places across the country, the Gurugram police has registered a case of rape against the accused people at women’s police station and a hunt has begun to arrest them.
According to police, Pooja (name changed) resides in Gurugram along with her husband. She is a working woman in a private firm. She alleged in her complaint that she had met Rahul (name changed) in June 2016, in a book house where he befriended her. After this meeting, they met several times.
In July last year, Rahul, one of the accused, called her on the pretext of some work in his house there she met two unknown people. During the conversation, the accused offered soft drink and after some time she fell unconscious. During that time Rahul and his accomplices raped
her.
They threatened to circulate her video in a compromising position if she revealed the incident to anyone, she alleged.
She also told police that Rahul had hypnotised her as well. He took advantage of this and he raped her along with seven others in December 2016 and February 2017.
On Tuesday she revealed the incident to her husband. He took her to the women’s police station. Where a rape case was registered against the accused persons under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the police said.
“We have registered a FIR against the culprits. The further probe is underway. The police team also raided several places to nab the accused,” ACP, Manish Sehgal spokesperson of the Gurugram police said.
