The Delhi Government nursery schools are now as good as any other top-notch private schools. And this is possible for the new initiative taken by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government.
Now, colourful lanterns, musical classrooms, toys, puppets paintings promoting green environment, attractive mats, mattresses, educative charts can be found in Government nursery schools in the national Capital.
“There are 150 nursery schools. Every classroom is different and the preparations are in full swing,” Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia told The Pioneer.
Sisodia who shared a series of pictures from different Government schools, including West Vinod Nagar, SKV, Paharganj SBV Zone 28, SKV Diwan Hall, Gokhle Marg unveiled the “extremely attractive” classrooms at the time of the politically charged environment ahead of the civic polls in the national Capital.
While sharing a few pictures on the twitter handle, Sisodia happily said, “Feel the pride.”
“My maid’s daughter got admission in EWS quota last year, got IInd position in nursery. Thnx @msisodia , sir ur effort changed someone’s life,” said one of the Delhi resident, Neetu Mattas.
The Delhi Government had given Rs one lakh to every school for decorating the classrooms and making them “as attractive as any private school.”
“Admission has started online… the result would be declared on April 1.We are well prepared… We were given Rs one lakh in March and we have completed the work right on time,” said Avadhesh Kumar Jha, principal of the Government Sarvodhay Co-Ed Vidyalaya, Rohini.
Jha’s school has strength of 40.
“There are so many private schools in Delhi. If parents don’t get admission to their wards in private, they approach Government. The age bar was four years. Now in nursery the age bar is three,” said Jha, adding that as per instructions from the Government, these nursery schools are as attractive as the private ones. “They are very advanced and will cater the inspiration and aspiration of poor families.
Delhi is also in process of adding 8,000 classrooms to cater to the students of the Government schools.
