Delhi University has come to the aid of its minority colleges after students were unable to register with the university due to some technical glitch and could only fill the college forms. The DU has allowed candidates to fill forms of colleges and register with it later, bypassing the earlier system of registering with the DU first and then filling the college forms. Earlier, due to the technical glitch, no student was being able to register for minority colleges, including St Stephens, despite the admission process for the 2017-2018 session having started eight days ago. “Aspirants could not start the college application because of a tab on the university’s website due to which the academic data of various boards including the CBSE was unavailable. But the varsity has made a provision under which the candidates can go ahead with filling up of the college form without payment and submission of the central form,” an official from St Stephen’s College told The Pioneer.
While the candidate can finish the submission of the college form, the varsity form should not be left incomplete and fees must be paid and the form must be submitted once the tab is ready on the university’s website.
“The candidates must later on log in and make the payment and submit the varsity’s form. They must after submitting the college form keeping checking the varsity’s user ID, where they have registered and check the tab to make the payment and submit the form. If the students fail in doing so, the college would not call them for the interview. Thus, completing the university form is mandatory,” he added.
The minority colleges have a parallel form besides the main university form for the aspirants to fill in order to take admission in the prestigious university. The university started its online admission process on May 22.
