In its mission to bust drug cartels in the national Capital and to put a full stop on the supply of drugs in rave parties, the Delhi Zonal Unit of the Narcotics Control Bureau(NCB) had carried out a review on its operations for November.
As per a drive ordered by Director General Rina Mitra, drugs worth Rs 2 lakh, 53 thousand have been seized in November along with the arrest of 41 people.
“During November, from November 1 till 27, the NCB had carried out 32 raids and seized 10.770 kg cocaine, 12.033 kg of heroin, 3.020kg of opium, 67.224kg of Hashish, 2633.454kg of ganja, 49.760kg of Ephedrine, 1725.630kg of poppy straw, 5.097 kg and 1550 number of tablets of Methamphetamine, 114799 bottles of codeine based syrups, 8000 tablets of nitrazepam, 8gm of MDMA and 2gm of Ecstacy,” said Dr Rajender Pal Singh.
Within just 27 days of this month, 41 people have been arrested, including eight foreign nationals. Out of these eight, three are Nigerian nationals, two are Venezualan nationals, one is a US national, one is a Bolivian and one is a Paraguayan national.
With their arrest, the NCB officers have seized five trucks, three cars, two motorbikes and cash worth Rs 2 lakh, 53 thousand four hundred and sixty.
The step comes in a bid to put a stop to the supply of drugs in the national capital as the rave parties have begun.
