The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates for civic elections filed their nomination papers at the Delhi State Election Commission on Thursday.

Those who filed nominations on Thursday included Ajay Sharma, Mukundpur area ward number 11, Ashish Chaudhary, 007 E Kondli and Manju Atrri from ward number 81. Also, candidates filed nominations from ward no 17 S Sita Puri, ward number 80-N, Anand Parvat ward number 82, ward number 82-N, ward number 63-E, ward number-59-S, Andrew Ganj, ward number-55 (S), ward number 008-S, Khyala, 79 N Shastri Nagar, ward number 60-E, ward number- 002-E.

The star campaigner on the top of its list, submitted to the election commission, Arvind Kejriwal is going to address his first public meeting at North Delhi’s Burari on Friday evening.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia already addressed meetings in Rajouri Garden. AAP convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also likely to include Rajouri Garden in the list of 25 to 30 meetings that he will be addressing during the MCD elections.

Vidhan Sabha candidate for Rajouri Garden seat, Harjeet Singh, is also doing padyatras to garner support for his party.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Transport and Health Minister Satyendra Jain, labour Minister Gopal Rai, Water Minister Kapil Mishra and leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly HS Phoolka will also be seen during the campaigns for the AAP ahead of the elections.

AAP leaders Ashutosh, Atishi Marlena, Ashish Khetan, Raghav Chadha and others are doing booth-wise indoor meetings in small groups. More than 150 such meetings are planned. 

Post-UP elections where the BJP won with a thumping majority, the ground for the civic elections in Delhi heated up with all the parties gearing up for a tough fight.

The civic polls are going to be a triangular contest between the BJP, the Congress and the AAP. Yogendra Yadav-led Swaraj India - a splinter group of AAP - is also making its debut in the election.
