TPDDl saved 33.2 MW electricity in last 1 yr
Consumers of the power discom Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDl) saved 33.2 MW of electricity in the last one year through various energy conservation schemes. The schemes have also helped in reducing 22,338 MT of carbon footprint by saving 67.19 MU of electricity consumption and also contributed towards lowering of peak power demand. Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of Tata Power-DDl said, “As a responsible power utility we have been constantly advocating and incentivizing energy conservation schemes for the benefit of customers and the city as a whole. Our Demand Side Management Schemes not only aim to reduce power consumption but also help customers in reducing spending on their electricity bills. We are very happy with the response we have received from our consumers with reference to the implementation of our various DSM schemes”.
Small sucker machines for narrow lanes in SDMC
The South Delhi Municipal Corporation is considering to purchase small sucker machines for deploying in narrow lane localities where large machines cannot even enter. Standing Committee Chairman Bhupender Gupta said that high price big super sucker machines and jet-cum-sucker machines have not been found suitable for the use in the narrow lane unauthorized colonies, villages and JJ clusters where more than 50 per cent of the total population has been residing. He made it clear that this large population could not be deprived of the mechanical based sanitation. “A few small sucker machines were put on trial and they have proved to be useful in such localities,” he said.
EDMC elects representative for various posts
East Delhi Municipal Corporation on Wednesday elected representative for various posts. Pravesh Sharma was elected as Chairman while Gurjeet Kaur selected as vice Chairman of standing committee. KK Aggarwal will assume the charges of vice Chairman of high-powered property tax committee while Hari Prasad Bahadur has been chosen as vice chairman of municipal accounts committee. All these posts were filled unanimously since only one nomination was filed.
