Since New Year took off, we have encountered unprecedented happenings, making it quite an eventful period for the country. The year opened its account with a major strike on our Pathankot Air base. Not even a fortnight had passed when our security agencies in a countrywide swoop, nabbed a good number of suspected terrorists who were planning major assaults. There is nothing new about proxy war being perpetuated by those inimical to us, and over a period of time we have learnt how to combat also. But what is important to note is that the planetary alignment during the ongoing year calls for being on full security alert all through the year, otherwise, we may be taken for a ride. For, the inimical forces would be on their toes to hit us hard on the first occasion they get.

The reason: Mars would be roughing shoulders with its dire enemy, the Saturn occupying the war sign Scorpio almost all through the year. Incidentally, Scorpio happens to be the 7th sign of the nation’s Independence chart marked with inimical countries. The implication could be still graver towards second half of August when Mars closes up with Saturn.

Whenever Mars and Saturn cross paths, and if ever having linkage to a war sign, the country becomes vulnerable to face war-like situations. It points to the likelihood of political rebels and terrorists baffling us with their sudden armed strike. Criminal activities shall be on the rise. Societal dissension may flare up. For, those subject to any kind of social or political discrimination or deprivation may gain courage to raise their voice. And if per chance other planets too happen to be anyway afflicted, it may lead to serious problems in the areas they signify. Incidentally, coming June, Uranus, which has been accorded part ownership of the sign Aquarius owned by Saturn, shall be moving on the sign Aries owned by Mars. This transit points to global turbulence, India not spared, which may further add to the gravity of our problems.  

This is not to suggest that the likely events are to be taken in finality. Should we be on full alert, we could take pre-emptive measures to ward of such eventualities. So, no wonder, since Mars was longitudinally ill-disposed off the Saturn in the New Year’s chart, we had to contend with terrorist onslaught. But when our security apparatus showed alertness, they caught hold of the miscreants much before they could act.

The Sun was locked in adverse formation to Uranus in the New Year’s chart implying that people would be up in arms against social injustice, political discrimination and many of the settled age old beliefs could be challenged. Also, that points to likelihood of constitutional crisis. Mars locking horns with Mercury pointed to likelihood of youth upsurge. Venus in exchange with Mars, and also ill-disposed off to mischievous Neptune pointed to the possibility of Women’s protest against gender discrimination. 

So, it came as no surprise when there was student uprising in the wake of the suicide of a Dalit scholar of Hyderabad University, which carries the potential of far reaching consequences. Then came into play women right activists movement against gender discrimination where women are not allowed entry into the sanctum sanctorum of Shani Singnapur temple. Both the movements have agitated all conscientious minds across the country. We have also been witness to serious constitutional crisis in Arunachal Pradesh.

One of the journalists who happened to visit me while I was scripting this piece, asked me: “How could planets so distant from us influence life on earthIJ” To make things clear, I had to give him a brief on dynamics of nature.  In course of cyclic run of nature, planetary alignments keep changing every now and then as a matter of routine.  Some of the alignments are in supportive mode pointing to favourable implications, while others may be ill-disposed off to each other carrying negative connotation, all across. For, the universe happens to be a unified organism where no individual existence has a reality independent of the entirety, included in which is the observer.  Imperative to this framework is that every point of the space remains intimately connected to the rest. Naturally, then, any change effected at one end, its echoes would travel far and wide.  Consequently, the varying dynamics of planetary orchestra have to have related bearing on the goings on the earth in practical terms.

To sum up, the Government, security apparatus, and people in general need to be on full alert this year.
