The BJP unit of Ghaziabad on Saturday opposed the proposed inauguration of Haj House by UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav next week, claiming it was built in violation of all norms to “appease a particular community”.
In a memorandum to the District Magistrate, Ghaziabad BJP unit chief Ajay Sharma alleged the Haj House has been constructed in violation of all building by-laws on the flood plains of the river Hindon.
It said that the underground pipeline of Gas Authority of India ltd is passing near the main building which can pose a security threat, while no environment and air force clearance have been obtain by the construction agency to build such a huge complex. “So over such violations this building must have been constructed to be used by all communities, including kanwarias, Jains, Haazies and Sikhs in their respective festivals,” said Sharma.
Attacking the UP Government’s priorities, Sharma said there was utter need of a college for trans-Hindon areas but it “preferred to appease a particular community” thus the BJP has decided to oppose the inauguration ceremony.
