39-year-old property dealer stabbed to death in lajpat Nagar

A 39-year-old property dealer was stabbed to death by two unidentified persons in South-East Delhi’s lajpat Nagar on Friday night. The accused after committing the crime fled the spot. Police suspect personal enmity behind the murder and has started investigating the matter.

According to a senior police official, the deceased has been identified as Manish Chabra, who used to stay with his family in lajpat Nagar. On Friday night, when Chabra had come out of his home to buy cigarettes from a nearby shop, two men cam e and started stabbing him.

The incident created panic in the area and a local immediately complained to the police, who came to the spot and took the victim to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

“We have registered a case of murder against unknown persons and sent the body for postmortem. Further investigations in the matter is on,” said the police official.

Chabra’s family members on the other hand alleged that the victim’s son was attacked many times before as well but got saved.
