Workshop to spread awareness against doping

To spread awareness regarding the consequences of the doping among players, a workshop was organised on Friday at the TT Nagar Stadium of the city.

National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) Project Officer Ankush Gupta gave crucial information regarding doping to the players during the workshop.

While addressing the players on Friday, NADA’s Ankush Gupta said that the meaning of doping is cheating hence players should stay away from it.

The use of doping could be a great obstacle in the career of the player. The career of the player could also be destroyed due to the doping.

Gupta told the players to be aware about medicines as some medicines also fall under the category of doping. The players should know about the working of NADA.

Director of Sports and Youth Welfare, Upendra Jain told that the workshop was based on the consequences of doping and it was organized to aware the players and the other people regarding the consequences of doping.

Various players of boarding and day boarding scheme under ‘Khelo India’ campaign took part in the workshop on Friday. Several coaches and trainers also remained present during the workshop.

The number three snooker player of the world, Kamal Chawla along with around 150 players of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) took part in the workshop.

Arjun award winner and Academy’s Chief Coach Ashok Dhyanchand, Gl Yadav, MK Kaushik, Dalbir Singh, SAI’s senior coach Jeevan Sharma, Surendra Pal remained present during the doping workshop along with the other officials.
