A woman was shot dead by two masked intruders who burgled a house at Gadarpur in Udham Singh Nagar district. The armed burglary has raised concern for public safety and law and order situation in the area. The incident occurred in the house of Abdul Wahim at Jhagri in Gadarpur at about 2:30 AM on Tuesday.
The masked intruders entered the house and confined Abdul Wahim, his wife, his mother and son in a room while looting cash and valuables from the house. later, when Wahim’s wife cried for help, the intruders shot her before decamping from the scene.
Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Anant Shankar Takwale and the forensic team also reached the scene of the armed burglary. The body was sent for post mortem examination. Wahim registered a complaint and a case under appropriate sections of IPC has been registered against unidentified persons in Gadarpur Police Station. The SSP has formed six teams led by ASP Kamlesh Upadhyay to investigate and crack the case without delay. local residents complained that the lack of proper patrolling by the police in the area, especially during the night time, is one of the factors which abetted the culprits in a way to scheme and execute the criminal act with apparently no fear of the police and the law.
