A 55-year old woman was robbed of gold chain worth `50000 near Gidwani Park under Bairagarh police station area in the morning on Sunday.
According to the police the victim Pushpa Detani had gone for morning walk and when she reached Gidwani Park a man came near her and snatched the gold chain from her neck and escaped. The victim raised a alarm after which the locals were alerted and tried to chase the miscreant but the accused managed to escape along with the gold chain.
A complaint was lodged with the Bairagarh police and in her complaint the victim claimed that she went for morning at around 8.30 and when she left the house and started to walk a miscreant came running from behind and snatched the gold chain she was wearing in her neck and escaped the spot.
The police have registered a case under Section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
Based on the complaint the police have started investigation.
The area remains deserted and as it was weekend there were very few people in the area which provided an easy escape for the miscreant.
For the identification of the miscreant victim was shown photographs of the habitual criminals involved in crimes in the area but till the filing of the report police were not able to narrow down on any criminal from the records and have claimed that in the investigation CCTV camera footages would be searched which could help in establishing the identification of the miscreant.
