Reckless driving took its toll once again. A 70-year-old woman died on the spot when a pickup van run over her while she was sitting outside her house on Friday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Sahodari Devi wife of late Jagarnath Panday belonging to Chandermarani village under saria police station. The incident occurred at around 5pm on Friday when a speeding Pickup van JH-10 W-3557 run over the old lady when she was sited near her house within the jurisdiction of Saria police station.
The driver identified as Puna Mandal run away soon after the accident.
Officer in charge KN Singh said that the police have got the primary leads about the incident.We have already traced the vehicle It belongs to Teji Mahto of Orwatard village. We will soon put the driver behind bars –Singh added.
