Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha, working with the Sports and Youth Welfare Directorate embarked on the ‘Mount Everest Expedition South Face Spring – 2016’ adventurous journey. He was given a warm send-off with wishes by Joint Director Sports Vinod Pradhan and other officers in a programme held at TT Nagar Stadium.
Sports and Youth Affairs Minister of the State Yashodhara Raje Scindia and Director Sports and Youth Welfare Upendra Jain also extended wishes to Kushwaha for this adventurous journey. At the time of send-off Kushwaha’s sister Sushila Choukse and niece Ananya were also present in the TT Nagar Stadium. Choukse blessed and wished him for success in the adventurous journey. Kushwaha is the only Indian among the selected eight squads for the Mount Everest Expedition South Face Spring – 2016. Other trackers in the squad are from South Africa and Germany.
On prior occasion Kushwaha has successfully done tracking of 5550 metre high black stone tracking in Nepal in the year 2015. The 64-day expedition would start on April 1 and would be concluded on June 2, 2016. The group members would have to climb ten hours per day in conditions of minus 12 to minus 55. The Sports and Youth Affairs Department has sanctioned an amount of `18.25 lakh as incentive amount for the only mountaineer of the State and country Kushwaha. Kushwaha has set many national records in the field of mountaineering and is serving with the directorate Sports and Youth Affairs Madhya Pradesh since 2007.
