The Vedanta limited has achieved zero malaria death in lanjigarh for the third consecutive year. Moreover, the cases of paediatric malaria have gone down by around 50 per cent over the past few years.
As part of the malaria eradication campaign on Monday, the World Malaria Day, the Vedanta organised an awareness campaign and blood test camp at Basantpada near lanjigarh.
More than 300 villagers were sensitised in the session. Street play, banners and leaflet distribution in the villages and public places were also conducted.
In lanjigarh, through the Zero Malaria Drive, the Vedanta has reached out to 50,000 people including pregnant women, infants and old age persons.
Under its CSR, the company is committed to eradicate malaria from 40 villages in the lanjigarh block.
