The CBI on Tuesday conducted raids at 29 places across the country including Odisha in connection with a `25-crore fraud in the Rourkela branch of the United Bank of India (UBI).
The Central investigative agency raided 17 places in Odisha, 10 in West Bengal and two in Maharashtra in connection with the fraud, revealed sources in the CBI.
The sources said the CBI also raided residences of some bank officers. Notably, the CBI took up the investigation in the matter following a report of the fraud at the Rourkela branch of the UBI.
