Four wicket haul by Gurinder Singh powered Tripura to took a 14 runs first innings lead against Goa on the penultimate day of the Group-C Ranji Trophy match at the KIIT Ground here on Saturday. Tripura scored 226 for 7 and accumulated 240 runs lead while the stumps were drawn for the day. In reply to Tripuira’s 283 first innings score Goa bundle out 269 in 96.2 overs. In the second innings Tripura got wickets in the regular intervals lost top four wickets at the score of 81. Rajat Dey came into action 88-balls unbeaten 56 and Gurinder Singh’s 92-ball 41 run ensure Tripura’s further damage in the second innings. In the process stitched 92 runs for the eighth wicket and team total reached 226 for 7. Earlier, Young Rajat Arjun Dey 104-balls 87 run helped Tripura recover from early jolts to post respectable 283. Saurabha Bhandarkar scalped two wickets in the first season to reduce Tripura 69 for 4, before Abhijit Day’s 103-ball 58 and Rajat Day’s 87 run to take Tripura out of trouble. 19-year Rajat forged a 51-run partnership for the sixth wicket with Abhijit and 81 with Manisankar Murasingh (29) for the seventh wicket.
